'Charge of desertion of Janry 27/63 removed: was tried before General Court Martial at Morganza La on charge of desertion from 1/19/63 at Caroline Landing MS until apprehended on or about 10/27/63.(he returned to his co and regt at Plaquemine La on 1/13/64) was found not guilty of desertion but guilty of absence without leave and sentenced to lose one year pay and make good time so lost to the government.'
