Notes from Musters and assorted items found at end of record:
JAN_FEB_64: rejoined his regt at Baton Rouge La 2/8/64 after an absence of more than 16 months and was released from arrest and returned to duty by order of Gen St. George Cooke

MAR_APR_64: This soldier was left sick at Cumberland Gap 9/1862 when the forces under Gen GW Morgan evacuated that post. There was a general order from Gen Morgan for all the sick to get home if they could and avoid falling into the hands of the rebels. This man succeeded in getting to his home in Pulaski Co Ky. He returned to his regt at this place 2/18/64. I preferred charges against him for absence without leave. He was arrested and lodged in the prison to await his trial. He was released and returned to his company five days after the arrest. Col. R May commanding the regt told me that he was released and returned to duty by order of Gen Cooke, commanding this post and at the same time returned to me the charges preferred against this man. While absent he was borne on the rolls as absent sick in pulaski co ky since his return he has not been able for duty.
