May 27, 1865

This is to certify that I have carefully examined J.P. Finley a private of Co G, 7th Regt KyVol Infy and find that he is suffering from deranged [something] and general disability and is not able for military duty'

Letter from Dr. J.H. Scott

'I J.H. Scott state I have examined John P Finley a private in Com G 7 Ky Reg vol Infantry find him still suffering from disease of the liver and general disability believe him not able for military duty do not believe he will be able for military duty in less time than thirty days from the date of expiration of his last certificate which runs out on 15 Dex 1864 therefore believe his furlough ought to be extended to the 15th jan 1865.
