cause of disability: Gunshot wound through Epiqustria region received December 24, 1864 whilst on picket in the discharge of his duty. The ball entering 6th costal cartilage of right side two inches from its attachment to the ribs and passing across made it's exit at the upper edge of seventh rib left side one inch from its stem extremity. A free discharge of pus continues from wound of entrance. Also because of expiration of term of three years service for which he was enlisted Disability 1/2.
