Sgt. Joseph Wagers

Joseph Wagers (s/o James Anderson Wagers, Sr. and Mourning Park) b. Mar 1, 1838, Estill Co. KY, d. Apr. 13, 1888, Frankfort, KY (fell out of hotel window). Mar. Roseline Pinkerton Shepherd Jul 30, 1868 in Irvine, Estill Co. KY (she was born Dec 7, 1842 and died Apr 13, 1941). (Rose was the daughter of Andrew & Cynthia Ann Moore Shepherd).  Joseph & Rose are buried at the Richmond Cemetary, Richmond, Madison Co. KY.

Joseph was among the 6 men who put the flag up on Lookout Mountain during the Civil War.
