Family Information
James Osborne Robinson (son of David and Nancy Robinson) was born 17 February
1835 in Long Branch, Buncombe Co., NC, and died 16 January 1912 in Jackson
Co., KY. After the death of his mother as a very young child, he traveled
with his father, stepmother and siblings from NC to Clay (now Jackson) Co.,
KY via wagon over the Wilderness Trail. Osborne married Margaret Hughes on
19 December 1857 in KY. She was the daughter of Jacob Hughes and Kiziah
"Kizzie" Witt.
Their children were:
i. Kiziah Robinson, b. Abt. 1859, near Green Hall, Jackson Co., KY; d. 29
April 1900, KY.
ii. Charles B. Robinson, b. 06 January 1861, Jackson Co. KY; d. 23 September
1951, Berea, Madison Co., KY.
iii. Merida T. Robinson, b. Abt. 1866, Jackson Co., KY; d. 1924, Jackson Co.,
KY.
iv. Martha A. Robinson, b. 27 March 1871, Jackson Co., KY; d. 22 July 1946.
v. Caleb Starr Robinson, b. 25 February 1873, near Green Hall, Jackson Co.,KY;
d. 23 January 1955, Cartersville, Garrard Co., KY.
James died in 1912 and is buried in the Robinson Family cemetery located at
his and his wife Margaret's home (the old homestead of his father, David
Robinson) near Green Hall in Jackson Co. KY.
